Our Story and Our Team
Our company was founded in 1975 as Solar Applications Company by Alain Ratheau, an electrical and mechanical engineer, originally from Paris. In April 2008, Andrew Cay took over leadership of the company with a focus on combining multiple technologies to achieve the most effective solutions. Alain continues to be an important part of our team, leading design and engineering. Andy’s education includes a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a MBA from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Integrated Solar has expertise in solar thermal, solar photovoltaic, small wind, geo-thermal, and biomass, as well as hybrid systems that combine these technologies. We have perhaps more experience in solar thermal applications than any other renewable energy company in Vermont. Integrated Solar is a PV, Hot Water, and Wind Partner with the State of Vermont Solar and Wind Partnership Program.
Our core team has a combined total of more than 90 years in the energy, building science, and construction trades, giving us a depth of practical experience and expertise that we maximize to the fullest benefit for our customers. As a team we hold degrees in Engineering, Business, Sustainable Design & Environmental Studies, and International Studies.
